Port of Liverpool Building 26.07.11
The magnificent Port of Liverpool Building on Liverpool's waterfront is seen on the 26th July 2011. Formerly the Mersey Docks and Harbour Board Offices It was constructed between 1904 and 1907.
Just round the corner, in Water Street,is Reliance House, where I began work in 1978 as a shipping clerk for J. Johnson and Co. Ltd, shipping agents and freight forwarders, having relocated from their Cradley Heath depot. Now I was in amongst ships,shipping people and shipping history. It was a great place to work.
