Built at Swindon, 5786 entered service in January 1930. In 1958 it was overhauled at Swindon and transferred from British Railways to London Transport where it was painted Maroon and numbered L92. Owned by the Worcester Locomotive Society, the locomotive is based on the South Devon Railway, currently (2020) in its L92 guise. The locomotive then became a familiar sight on Western Region lines in the Birmingham area wearing its Great Western livery, before moving on to the Dart Valley Railway in 1965, where it hauled the official opening train.
