5786 Buckfastleigh SDR 03.07.07 - Tanks for the memory
5786 is one of over eight hundred 57xx pannier tank locomotives of the Great Western Railway. Built at Swindon, 5786 entered service in January 1930. In 1958 it was overhauled at Swindon and transferred from British Railways to London Transport where it was painted Maroon and numbered L92. Owned by the Worcester Locomotive Society, the locomotive is based on the South Devon Railway, currently (2020) in its L92 guise. Here however, it is seen it is seen retsored to its original livery, about to depart from Buckfastleigh with a srvice for Totnes on the 3rd July 2007.
